Troy Young, DVM
Dr. Young is a 1996 magna cum laude graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a medical and surgical internship with the Sacramento Animal Medical Group in 1997, and later was a resident in comparative anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Young’s professional interests include anesthesiology (pain management), critical care, ophthalmology, and being the best advocate possible for the very important pets that are entrusted to his care. Veterinary memberships include the AVMA, CVMA, and past-president and program chair of the NVVMA. In his off-time he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, hiking, mountaineering & rock climbing, skiing, scuba diving, tennis, astronomy, and photography.
Carol Vetri, DVM
Dr. Vetri has been a vet at Northpointe since 2006. She is a graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to her busy clinical schedule at Northpointe, she is also involved in the care of the animals at the Sutter County Animal Control Facility. She is joined at home by Lola and April, just to name a few of her many furry friends.
Brittany Thompson, DVM
Dr. Thompson received her veterinary degree in 2007 from the St. George University School of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from the Yuba-Sutter area, she joined our staff in 2011 after working in a busy practice in Syracuse, New York. When not practicing at Northpointe Dr. Thompson spends time at home with her family.
Masae Suda, DVM
Dr. Suda is one of our emergency clinicians at Northpointe. She is a 2005 graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and worked professionally in the Sacramento area before coming to work with us. Dr. Suda has a special interest in veterinary ultrasonography (ultrasound). She is joined at home with her husband, son, and their pets Pumpkin, Ken and Rudolf.
R. Mariko Pillitteri, DVM
With an academic background in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Dr. Pillitteri attended the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Following her graduation in 2013, she completed an internship at a regional veterinary specialty/emergency hospital in the Bay Area before coming to work with us Northpointe. Dr. Pillitteri has a special interest and experience in emergency medicine, surgery and ultrasound. When away from the hospital, Dr. Pillitteri spends much of her free time with her horse, Derby, and competes in 3-day eventing and dressage.
Tracy Powers, DVM
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in neurobiology and physiology, Dr. Powers attended the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2004. She was a general practitioner in Sacramento and Fairfield before joining our staff at Northpointe. Dr. Powers has a clinical interest in ultrasound and surgery. When not working at Northpointe she is spending time with her husband, two kids, two dogs and two cats.
Kim Padilla, DVM – Emergency Veterinarian
Dr. Padilla is a graduate of UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and after receiving her DVM degree she completed a medical and surgical internship at California Veterinary Specialists in Southern California. Dr. Padilla is one of our emergency doctors at Northpointe. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Padilla loves spending time with her family and their pets Cheddar and Buster.
Cindy Hague, DVM
Dr. Hague is one of our emergency doctors. Originally from Canada, she graduated in 2009 from the veterinary program at Massey University in New Zealand, and has extensive experience in emergency veterinary medicine. Earlier in her career, Dr. Hague founded the first no-kill animal shelter in Canada. Now residing in California with her family, she enjoys rock climbing when away from her duties at the hospital.
Chey Bernal, DVM
Dr. Bernal is a graduate of the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Before coming to Northpointe he completed and internship at a large specialty and emergency hospital in the Bay Area. Dr. Bernal has a special interest in emergency medicine and critical care, and serves as one of our overnight doctors.
Megan Dunbar, DVM
Dr. Dunbar received her degree from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She has been practicing in the Yuba-Sutter area for the past few years before joining us at Northpointe, where she now works as part of our daytime medical team. She has clinical experience not just with dogs and cats, but also with horses and ranch animals. Dr. Dunbar enjoys camping, fishing and the great outdoors.
Amanda Stuart, DVM
Dr. Amanda Stuart graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013, and has been working since that time as a veterinarian in northern California. She is currently part of our daytime urgent care team at Northpointe. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, rock climbing, hiking and other outdoor activities, and spending quality time with her dogs Geo, Terra and Bug.
