Doctors

John Mullen

DVM

Dr. Mullen has been practicing at Northpointe Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years. Originally from Wisconsin, he received his DVM degree from the University of Missouri, and moved to California where he has spent most of his professional life. He is an avid outdoorsman, and when not practicing medicine in the hospital, is likely to be out fishing. Also living in the Mullen household is Pearl, a Labrador Retriever, and a standard poodle named Claire.

Carol Vetri

DVM

Dr. Vetri has been a veterinarian at Northpointe since 2006. She is a graduate of the University of California, School of Veterinary Medicine (UC Davis). In addition to her busy clinical schedule at Northpointe, she has volunteered to help bring needed veterinary services to the homeless with pets through the Mercer Clinic, and has travelled to Mexico to volunteer her time providing veterinary services.

Kimberly Wilkins

DVM

Dr. Wilkins is also a graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She has a clinical background that includes both general veterinary practice with dogs and cats, and also work with wildlife and exotic pets. Dr. Wilkins has also volunteered her services at the Mercer Veterinary Clinic for the Homeless in Sacramento. She has a cat named Cleo, and a Husky named Maverick.

Tim Calvert

DVM

Dr. Tim Calvert is one of our emergency shift veterinarians, working through the night at Northpointe.   He has had extensive experience as an emergency veterinarian.   Dr. Calvert is a graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

Brittany Thompson

DVM

Dr. Thompson received her veterinary degree from the St. George University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating as a D.V.M. in 2007. After working in a busy New York practice ( in Syracuse) for a few years, she joined our staff in 2011.

Masae Suda

DVM

Dr. Suda is one of our emergency clinicians at Northpointe. She is a 2005 graduate of the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and has worked professionally in the Sacramento area before coming to work with us. Dr. Suda has an interest in veterinary ultrasonography (ultrasound).

Practice Manager

Sherri is the Hospital Manager at Northpointe. She has worked with us for 14 years, and is now the administrative coordinator for the entire hospital. Sherri is involved to some degree in almost everything that happens “behind-the-scenes” at Northpointe Veterinary Hospital.

Julie

Receptionist

Julie has been a dedicated part of our team for over 12 years. She has been crossed trained in all areas of the hospital and is always eager to help wherever she is needed. She helps with all aspects of reception duties as well assisting the doctors and the technicians whenever needed. Her pets ‘Whiskey’ ‘Alex’ and ‘Tucker’ are a big part of her family. In her free time Julie enjoys riding horses and spending time with her son Cody.

Kristie

Receptionist

Kristie helps to staff our front office and continues to offer support to our clients. She has been with us for several years, and has a previous history in the veterinary field.  

Kelly P.

Receptionist

Kelly has experience in all aspects of a veterinary hospital. She is a valuable team member with our emergency staff and has a very pleasant personality that shows through as she helps our clients with all their needs.

Amanda

Receptionist

Before joining us as a receptionist at Northpointe, Amanda studied Early Childhood Education at Yuba College, then decided to change career paths and work with animals.  She has basset hound named “Dave,” and a border collie mix named “Rosie.”

Tawni

Receptionist

Although new to the veterinary field, Tawni has become very familiar with our hospital and enjoys the everyday challenges of working with people and pets. She has a joyful personality and willingness to take on any new task that is given to her. She has two cats “sushi” and “moo.”

Jennifer

Receptionist

Jennifer came to us in March 2009. Her smiling face and outgoing personality are just a few of the characteristics that we enjoy about her. Jennifer has over 20 years of experience working with animals. Some of her four legged friends are ‘Bear,’ ‘Dora,’ ‘Samantha,’ and ‘Sammy’ she also enjoys riding horses and spending time with her daughter.

Angie

Head Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Angie joined our team in January 2009 after moving to California. Her ability to quickly adapt to our hospital flow proved to us that she is a great asset to our hospital. Angie has an enormous amount of energy that keeps her going. If there is something that needs to get done, she is on it! Angie has a son and her four legged friends are ‘Lucky’ ‘Tiger’ and ‘Otis’.

Sharon

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Sharon has been with our practice since 2007. She helps to keep the treatment, lab and surgery area organized. Sharon will ensure your pet receives excellent care at our hospital. She enjoys riding four wheelers, snowmobiles and spending time with her husband and daughter and their dog ‘Katie’.

Annette

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Annette has dedicated 20 years to our hospital. As a technician her love of animals shows through in her work. Your pet will benefit from her years of experience. Annette helps with performing dentals, obtaining x-rays and assisting in surgeries. Annette also has a passion for horses. She has many four legged family members, ‘Buster’ who is best known around the office. Annette is married with one son and two daughters. She enjoys horseback riding in her free time.

Beth

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Beth became a part of our staff in 2002. After finishing the veterinary technician program at Yuba Community College, she became a full time registered technician. Beth is in charge of inventory control, and also assists the doctors on a day to day basis with lab work, x-rays, assisting in surgery and providing patient care for all hospitalized patients. Her furry friends are ‘Lula’ and ‘PJ’.

Natalie

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Natalie is one of our registered technicians. Having a few years of experience in both large and small animal hospitals, she is a valuable member of our emergency staff.  Her positive attitude and willingness to help when needed has proven to be a bonus for our hospital. She has a great compassion for animals.

Michael

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Michael is a graduate of  the Veterinary Technician program at Yuba Community College.   After working at Northpointe as a part of the training program, he has now joined our team as a full time registered technician. With his great enthusiasm, Michael is willing to take on any challenge.  He has a dachsund named ‘Heidi,’ and a chihuahua named ‘Wendel.’

Karen

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Karen has over 20 years of experience as a registered veterinary technician. She has worked for a number of veterinary hospitals in the past, and the experience she brings as part of our emergency staff is a great asset to our hospital. Karen enjoys gardening in her free time and is involved in showing brittany spaniels at AKC and UKC shows.

Kim

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Kim has been a staff member at Northpointe for many years. With over 20 years of experience as a registered veterinary technician, she has extensive knowledge that will benefit both clients and pets. She will be an added bonus to our emergency staff. Kim enjoys horseback riding in her spare time.

Tiffany

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA state licensed)

Tiffany started at our hospital as a volunteer, but she has now graduated from the veterinary technician program at Western Career College, passed the California state licensing Board exam, and has become a valuable member of our permanent staff. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, she cares for hospitalized pets, assists in surgery and administers treatments. Tiffany has a dog named “Sugar.

Nikki

Registered Veterinary Technician (CA State Licensed)

During my first year at the Yuba College Veterinary Medical Technician program, I volunteered at Northpointe Veterinary Hospital.  After volunteering I was offered a job as a paid assistant, and following my graduation in May 2011, I became a full-time employee here and I have the opportunity to work with our great clients and their pets. I love working every day with dogs and cats, but I also have a special interest in wildlife and exotic animals. My pets at home are a Yorkie named “Zeus” and a Pomeranian mix named “Zeke,” a terrier mix named “Zoey,”and my amazon parrot.

Heather

Assistant

Heather started with our hospital in 2004 working as a kennel assistant and helping the technicians when needed. Heather has a great passion for animals and always puts the well being of the patient/boarders first. She has recently started training to work in the reception area where her pleasant personality is enjoyed by all. Like the rest of our staff, Heather loves pets and has a variety of furry friends in her household.

Chris

Assistant

Having several years of experience working with animals, Chris comes to our hospital as an experienced assistant, helping wherever she is needed. She is willing to expand her knowledge in the veterinary field and continue to provide outstanding care to all the patients who come to our hospital and boarding facility.

Courtney

Assistant

As a kennel assistant, Courtney started as a volunteer while in high school, and then became a part-time employee. As she continues to further her education at the community college, Courtney helps take care of the boarders as well assisting the technicians and the receptionists when times are busy. She has great enthusiasm and is eager to learn new skills that will help her in the future in the veterinary field. Courtney has a special interest in rats and has other furry friends at home.

Emily

Assistant

Emily has joined our team as an assistant, helping in the boarding facility as well as assisting the technicians and doctors when needed.  She has a great attitude and enjoys taking care of the boarding pets and assuring that all of them are pampered  while staying with us when their families are on vacation.
